Along with medical and scientific experts, advocates for parental rights, and a broad coalition of other voices, a bipartisan group of Texas legislators have urged clemency for Robert Roberson a month before his scheduled execution. Roberson has been on death row for more than 20 years based on the discredited “shaken baby” hypothesis.
“Regardless of our individual positions on the death penalty, I think we can all agree that putting a potentially innocent man to death for a crime that may not have occurred would be a grave miscarriage of justice,” said Representative Lacey Hull, a Republican legislator calling for clemency.
