NOV 5. 2026 – Conservatives Concerned Executive Director Demetrius Minor today issued a statement following California Governor Gavin Newsom’s decision to commute the sentences of all 548 individuals on California’s death row to life in prison without parole.
“The California Governor’s decision to commute the state’s death row is a major blow to capital punishment. Americans on both sides of the aisle agree that the death penalty is a failed policy, and we call on conservative governors across the country to commute their own state’s death rows. This will ensure more responsible stewardship of taxpayer dollars and safer communities.”
